Newsreaders are complicated and require management to be efficient. Techlogic’s TLNews 2.0 answer to that statement is: “To hell with it, it's supposed to be simple!”

TLNews 2.0 was built to avoid management and complex setup. It was design by Usenet users and for Usenet users who download a lot.

Stop wasting time managing your software. There's so much content to enjoy on Usenet you don't need that hassle! You can now spend your time choosing what you want to download.

How easy is it really? Do you have a NZB file? Open it and click start, it's THAT easy!

TLNews Tip of the Day: Downloading headers using multiple connections.

Several factors may influence your speed while downloading from your Usenet provider. Geographic location, the number of routers between you and your Usenet provider as well as speed limits imposed by your Internet provider all contribute to decrease your download speed.

One easy trick to increase the speed at which you download headers is to do so using multiple connections. TLNews Newsreader has the unique ability to be able to download headers using more than one connection, even when you are downloading from a single newsgroup!

Start by selecting “Edit NNTP servers” under the Settings menu (or pressing ALT+N). Choose a server from the list and look for a section named “Defaults number of connections…” on the bottom-right part of the window. In the box named “Downloading headers”, simply enter the number of connections you want to use to download headers and press Save. A good default value is 2 or 3.

From now on, TLNews will download headers using the number of connections you specified. Note that Usenet providers usually set a limit to the number of simultaneous connections allowed by a user.

Happy downloading!
